You will receive a letter in the mail inviting you to take a brief survey – the 2020 U.S. Census. But what exactly is the U.S. Census and why is it important to you?

Putting Dollars into Your Community

Every 10 years, the U.S. counts every person within its borders. The census information collected helps the government decide how to spend billions of dollars in communities across the U.S. More people counted can mean more money for schools, roads, healthcare and other assistance programs. As you can see – census participation can make a huge difference for your community!

Don’t Let an Undercount Hurt Texas

In 2017, Texas received $101.6 billion in federal funding (a figure based directly on census data). But an undercount in the 2020 U.S. Census could cause that figure to drop a lot. Texas could lose more federal funding from an undercount in 2020 than any other state.*

You owe it to your community to stand up and be counted.
